Yomega
Yomega Corporation was founded in 1983 in Fall River, Massachusetts, and launched the toy industry’s first centrifugal-clutch auto-return yo-yo — the Brain — in 1984, based on U.S. Patent #4,332,102. The Brain became a worldwide bestseller and established Yomega as one of the most recognized yo-yo manufacturers on the planet. Yomega pioneered the transaxle (Fireball, 1989), the ball-bearing looping yo-yo (Raider, 1991), and the first consumer-grade aluminum butterfly (Wing Force, 1998). During the late-1990s yo-yo boom they partnered with Bandai for the Japanese Hyper Yo-Yo series and with McDonald’s for a mass-market Happy Meal promotion. Today Yomega sells in over 35 countries and offers yo-yos at every skill level from beginner clutch models through unresponsive competition-grade aluminum.
