About
The Hyper Fireball is a Japan-exclusive version of the Yomega Fireball, released by Bandai in July 1997 for the first Hyper Yo-Yo lineup. The Fireball was arguably the most iconic model of the 1997 Hyper Yo-Yo boom — far more familiar than the competition. It introduced the nylon transaxle to mass-market Japanese consumers, giving far longer sleep times than fixed-axle competitors. The rounded modified shape is versatile for both looping and basic string tricks, and the non-disassembling body requires no maintenance beyond string changes. Original string and cork pads on vintage examples may have degraded after 25+ years.
