The Jack Russell Company was founded in 1947 by Jack Russell, a former Duncan Toys demonstrator who purchased the international promotions division he had built alongside Donald F. Duncan Sr. For over five decades, Russell became the world’s dominant promotional yo-yo brand, producing advertising yo-yos for Coca-Cola and its sub-brands in 95 countries and igniting mass yo-yo crazes across the globe — most memorably in the 1980s. Renamed Russell Promotions, Inc. in 1997, the company continued producing limited runs for McDonald’s, Volkswagen, Bandai, Daft Punk, and other brands. Jack Russell died in March 2004; the company remains nominally active under family management in Stuart, Florida.
