Russell Super Folio 1328

History / About

Introduced in 1970 as a premium model above the Championship, the Super’s defining feature was its transparent (clear) plastic body — the higher-density material gave it more weight and longer spin times than the opaque Championship. It became one of Russell’s most widely distributed models across Coca-Cola global campaigns through the 1970s–1990s, with documented runs for Coke, Fanta, Sprite, and US regional variants including “Coke is it! in Utah.” After the 1998 THP partnership, updated versions used opaque colored plastic. The Hyper Russell Super, released through Bandai’s Hyper Yo-Yo line in Japan, was a lightweight successor variant.
