Released in 1998–1999 as part of Bandai’s Hyper Yo-Yo line in Japan, the Hyper Russell Super was the lighter companion to the Hyper Russell Professional. Where the Professional used translucent polycarbonate plastic, the Super used opaque colored plastic and was approximately 9 grams lighter. Both models were manufactured in Korea by Russell and distributed by Bandai as tie-ins with the Chousoku Spinner anime. The Super came in multiple color options aligned with the anime’s character colorways.
