sOMEThING
sOMEThING by YoYoAddict is a Japanese premium yo-yo brand founded in 2012 by Hiroyuki “Mickey” Suzuki, the most decorated 1A competitor in World Yo-Yo Contest history — four world titles (2004, 2005, 2006, 2012), seven Asia-Pacific Championships, and six Japan National Championships. The brand operates as a sub-label of Suzuki’s retail operation YoYoAddict, sold worldwide through Yo-Yo Store REWIND, YoYoExpert, and other major retailers.
The mixed-case brand name encodes Suzuki’s initials: lowercase “s” for Suzuki, lowercase “h” for Hiroyuki. The brand launched with the ANGLAM — its debut bi-metal combining a 6061 aluminum body with titanium weight rings — which immediately set a new standard for Japanese competition throws and seeded a product line that has run for over a decade. Every flagship ANGLAM variant has been used to win or place at the World Yo-Yo Contest.
sOMEThING spans the premium and ultra-premium tiers of the market, from accessible aluminum monometals and plastic hybrids to full-titanium flagships above $900 USD. The brand’s design philosophy centers on extreme rim weighting — using stainless steel, titanium, and POM rings positioned at the outer edge of the body — to maximize spin power and stability for high-speed, expressive competition freestyle. The lineup also includes dedicated 2A, 3A, and 4A models, and a signature series for team members Christopher Chia and Yuiga Suzuki.
