C3Yoyodesign
C3yoyodesign is Hong Kong’s first manufacturer of high-end yo-yos, founded in 2009 by Walter Wong, Ron Chan, and Simpson Wong — three experienced competitive players who had already been traveling the world photographing, filming, and promoting the yo-yo scene. Prior to building products, the team helped organize local Hong Kong events and contests. In 2011 the company formally established itself as a full manufacturer, expanding its team roster beyond Asia to include players from Europe and North America.
The brand gained international recognition rapidly, driven by landmark releases: the Berserker bi-metal (2012) set a new standard for professional bi-metal design; the Krown (2013), Shinya Kido’s signature, launched C3 onto the world stage and became one of the best-selling competition yo-yos in history; and the Speedaholic (2013) proved that a sub-$15 plastic could compete with metal. Since then, C3 has sponsored world champions across multiple divisions — including Shinya Kido (1A, 2009 World Champion), Shion Araya (1A, 2016–2017 World Champion), Rei Iwakura (4A, 7x World Champion), Hobbit Wen (Women’s 1A, 2015 & 2018), and Sora Ishikawa (5A).
C3yoyodesign operates its own in-house anodizing and handles design, engineering, and photography internally. Their product philosophy spans the full price spectrum — from the $9 Arise beginner model to the $600 Berserker Titanium world-limited edition — while maintaining a consistent reputation for exceptional build quality, colorway artistry, and competition performance. The company celebrated its 15th anniversary in 2024 with the release of the tri-material Super Scintillator, cementing its status as one of the most influential yo-yo brands in the world.
