Project 2

From One Drop:

The Project has been evolved to meet the modern standards and features that players have come to expect and the result is the Project 2. Our goal was to maintain the spirit of the original while adding the new refinements.

M1

From One Drop:

“For our second yo-yo release, we set out to create a high-quality aluminum yo-yo which is readily available at a reasonable price. The result is the M1. As you would expect from us, many months of prototyping and refinement went into the creation of the M1. We once again enlisted the help of the Portland Yo-Yo Club, Mark Montgomery and others to test the playability. All agree that it is, first and foremost, a solid player.

We paid close attention to the testers feedback and the features that they most wanted. In that regard, the M1 sports a recess groove that’s deep enough to take flow-able silicone, an inner thumb grind lip, and tapered outer rims that provide plenty of catch-zone width (more than a Project in fact). The M1’s profile and shape move us in a new direction, bringing a narrower width to the undersized yo-yo.

Because of the play, the price and the availability, the M1 is intended to be a true players yo-yo. One which you don’t have to worry about throwing anywhere, anytime, over any surface.”

Asora

Asora Prototype 01/02

From Suspense:

[after the Fuwa 2] ” … I removed the weight ring concept, it was too much effort to design around a weight ring and caps, along with trying to control the weight and weight distribution, too many features caused for the stock bare bone design to be forced into a play that I did not like.

That’s when Asora 01 and 02 were born. These were the first designs I sold. Both were ordered at the same time (received Jan 2023).

Asora 01 was sold on March 2023. Asora 02 was sold after 01 sold out, in December of 2023. 02 sold out a few months later. 30 units for each, there’s a couple extra 02 floating around somewhere with family members and things of that nature. One of each is also with One Drop for their playable museum.”

Asora Prototype 03

The Asora 03, which would eventually become the Production Asora, released at Worlds 2024 on July 31st.

Production Run

The production Asora released on October 11, 2024. It is identical to the 03.

The Asora released in five colorways: pink, clear, blue, black, and a lime green. Each comes clear Ultra Light Side-Effects, except for the pink which comes with red.

MarkMont Project

From One Drop:

“The MarkMont is the signature edition Project for our sponsored player Mark Montgomery. Mark requested small tweaks to the original Project and the result is this amazing yo-yo. It is a little heavier and wider than a Project, has a slightly deeper response recess and is finished with Nickel Plating.”

This yo-yo is often just called the MarkMont.

Lucha Libre

The Lucha Libre was the final release for Throw Down. According to team members, the prototypes had a number of concerns. There was a thick axle that was screwed directly into the Delrin and the bearing sat on the Delrin. There were changes to the production version, a spiked hex nut, a different bearing seat, but these changes were never tested by the team. Due to an error at the machine shop, the production run’s bearing seat was machined too thin. This caused the Lucha Libre to break, sometimes just by returning to the hand. 80 yoyos were released in white or dyed colors. Most Lucha Libre’s became unplayable shortly after playing for the first time. Throw Down never recovered from this and shut down.
