The Phi 1.618 shipped December 7, 2005 as a refined successor to the original Phi. The teflon finish was dropped in favor of bare aluminum, making it popular for custom powdercoating. The profile was slightly narrowed, and the inner hub wall was thickened to accommodate a recessed response pad mod. A proprietary “super-bearing” with a non-stick coating was included to reduce lock-up risk. 203 units were produced; 200 sold; all serial numbered.
