Shenzhou (神州, Shénzhōu — “Divine Land”) is a toy manufacturer based in the Chenghai district of Shantou, Guangdong, China — the historic center of Chinese toy manufacturing. Founded in 1988 as a plastics factory, the company entered the toy industry after China’s WTO accession in 2001, incorporating as Shantou Shenzhou Toys Co., Ltd. (汉头市神州玩具有限公司). By 2011 Shenzhou had released a line of hobbyist-grade metal and polycarbonate yo-yos — the Assault, Battle Axe, BlitzFire, Crystal, and Professional — sold internationally via Amazon and eBay, all featuring hubstacks and silicone O-ring response. The company subsequently shifted its primary focus to speed cubes while continuing to produce yo-yos as part of a broader toy portfolio, including aluminum alloy models and licensed consumer products.
