King Yo Star
King Yo Star (KYS) was founded in 2011 as a dual-entity operation between Vancouver, BC, Canada and China. Established by Jeremy McKay (“Mr. Yoyothrower”) and the KYS Design Team — Steven Vong Kin Ian and Kuyos Chen Jia Lin — the company built its early identity around yoyos where width exceeds diameter, anti-vibration ring technology, and extra-wide catch zones.
The lineup expanded from the aluminum 2011 debut models through bi-metal innovation with the Rapid (2014) — designed with 2013 US 5A National Champion Jake Elliott — and a 4A collaboration with MonkeyfingeR Design on the Silverback King (2016). KYS was active through approximately 2017.
