44CLASH
44CLASH is an annual yo-yo freestyle competition founded in 2008 in Yokohama, Japan by Masanobu Iwata — widely regarded as the world’s first yo-yo contest held in a nightclub setting. The name is a Japanese wordplay: the number 4 can be read as “yo” (ヨ), making “44” sound like “yoyo.” Each event features exclusive limited-edition collaborative yo-yos produced with partner manufacturers including YoYoRecreation, YoYoFactory, Mowl, C3 Yoyo Design, Throwing Point, and others. Freestyles are scored on technique, performance, and a unique “44CLASH Point” rewarding coolness and crowd impact.
