The Tinman is the world’s first diamond-coated titanium yo-yo, announced in mid-2018. Loosely based on the YoYoJam Hitman profile, it is machined from 6AL4V Grade 5 titanium with an actual diamond coating — not DLC — applied by a U.S. coating company, described as “low friction, very tough, and very pretty.” Machining was handled by FPM. The high walls and slightly undersized diameter produce a distinctive audible hum or “sing” during play that became a talking point in community reviews. Priced at $300 USD.
