The Bangarang is Lathed Back Design’s first production yo-yo and the foundation of their mini modular titanium line. Designed to utilize titanium to its maximum potential despite its compact size, the Bangarang ships with three bearing configurations — a wide unresponsive centering bearing, a narrow semi-responsive bearing, and an anodized titanium fixed-axle blank — plus a set of 3D-printed Delrin expansion rims, O-rings, string, a size-A bearing removal tool, and a custom 1980s-style boom-box themed 3D-printed packaging case.
The rim system expands the core from mini to full-size dimensions, offering six distinct play configurations out of the box. An optional OST Module expansion (press-on titanium rims for spark play) was also offered. Each colorway was produced in limited runs of approximately 100 pieces; once sold, a colorway was permanently retired. All anodizing was performed in-house by the brand, one piece at a time.
Colorways
Standard retail colorways included Raw Machined, Black Cherry Cola, Rainbow Sherbet, Stardust, and Wildberry Meltdown. The YoYoExpert launch run (November 19, 2021) featured Fractured Royalty, Rippled Cobalt, Stardust, Spike, Plot Twist, and Blue Raspberry Cola. Artist’s Proof editions — unique 1-of-1 or small-run custom anodize pieces — included Copper Fission AP and Wild Berry Fission, among others.
