History / About
MUGENYOYO is a battery-powered yo-yo from Takara Tomy with a built-in motor. The motor stops automatically when load is applied, so it can sleep and be caught like a normal yo-yo, but it also spins automatically when the string is attached to a finger and dropped, letting the player continue tricks without catching it. A new battery lasts about 10 minutes. An NFC tag lets a smartphone app add AR effects to the yo-yo path in video, and it was billed as the first Japanese toy linked with TikTok. The body glows red when released; a green version was announced for 3 November 2022. Takara Tomy ended the app download and official TikTok account at the end of September 2024 while keeping product information online. Motorized yo-yos may be prohibited in some contests.
