The Surge is positioned as the natural upgrade from the Classic, shipping with silicone response pads and bind-response configuration for players transitioning from tug-return to advanced play. At 70.7 grams it is notably heavy for an all-plastic yo-yo, contributing to strong gyroscopic stability. A championship edition was produced for the 2013 World YoYo Contest.
