About the Zombie
The Zombie is the flagship model of the Pocket Pros lineup, released in 2010. Machined from aircraft-grade aluminum in a slimline butterfly shape, the Zombie was one of the least expensive metal yo-yos available at mass retail at approximately $19.99. It featured reversible silicone brake pads (one flat side, one starburst side), Pocket Pros’ Slick Six 6-strand string, and a ball bearing axle for unresponsive string-trick play.
The bearing specification changed across production runs: the 2010 version used a Size C V-Notch ABEC-7 bearing, later versions used the brand’s non-standard 18K Gold Pro bearing, and subsequent runs returned to a standard high-performance Size C. Available in silver, candy red, and lime green. The Zombie should not be confused with the Small Minds Zombie, an unrelated earlier model.
