“Vulture is yoyofriends’ newest inner ring bimetal. Vulture features a classic composition of 7068 and stainless steel in a V/H shape that focuses on power, stability and flow. The stainless steel ring weight of Vulture is around 16g, a 50%+ increase from our previous inner ring release. Vulture pushes the limit of performance and weight distribution for an inner ring bimetal. The name is inspired by the striking look of the bird and the classic spiderman villain, which signifies power, strength. maneuverability and precision!
We apologize for the delayed release of the koi and vulture. When we released the exclusive green+black acidwash vulture on 5/10, we found out a couple are not dead smooth and fell short of the high yoyofriends standards. We immediately checked the entire stock from the yoyofriends store and asked yoyoexpert, yoyosam to test their stock ( Huge thanks to yoyoexpert and yoyosam ). They said vast majority, almost all of them are dead smooth and only very few have slight finger nail vibe that is barely noticeable. We were glad this run is OK, however we strive for being the best of the best in terms of quality. After internal discussion, we decided to have a 15% discount across all vulture worldwide this run. “In 2018, here at Yoyofriends we constantly challenge ourselves to make yo-yos that are at the technological forefront. We constantly strive to make the most premium and competition-ready yo-yos.
Where better to start than our first release, the Hummingbird? The Hummingbird is a bird that has lightning fast speeds; a unique hum when it flaps its wings, not dissimilar to a spinning yo-yo; and the special ability to conserve its energy to travel and migrate across vast distances. We named the yo-yo after the Hummingbird as we were inspired by the bird’s extraordinary characteristics. Since its release, the Hummingbird has been lauded as one of the best bimetals ever made due to its jet-fast play akin to a Hummingbird travelling across the Gulf, easy maneuverability like a hovering Hummingbird and beautiful aesthetic.
We decided to make a premium titanium bimetal based on the Hummingbird as we wanted to improve on the existing design. We pushed our machines and made the walls of the yo-yo even thinner than the aluminium Hummingbird, at 0.5 mm which is the lowest limit for titanium, allowing for extreme weight distribution. As with most titanium-stainless steel (TiSS) yo-yos, making a smooth yo-yo is a big challenge – but we managed to consistently achieve smoothness with the press-fit stainless steel rims which are machined to precise tolerances. As a result, the yo-yo properties are even closer to the extraordinary characteristics of the Hummingbird species.

Halloween Colorways
Yoyofriends has currently released two limited-edition Halloween colorways for the Ti KOI.
“The Tachyon is a kind of yoyo based on speed. We picked the name Tachyon because it perfectly fits the ideology of the yoyo, tachyon is a hypothetical particle that travels faster than light.
A perfect caricature of what this yoyo stands for. It is also a homage to one of our new particle naming schemes that started with the Baryon.
