Küntosh

The Prototypes

There were around 8-10 proto Kuntosh’s made. These were the only Kuntosh available Anti-Yo until years later in 2016 when One Drop partnered with Sonny to release finally release a production run of the Kuntosh (see below).

The Production

From One Drop:

“You may have heard whispers coming from the far corners of the internet or backrooms of your yo-yo club about the last(and unreleased) yo-yo from Anti-Yo. Legend has it that Sonny Patrick designed it and One Drop Yo-Yos built it. For years, only 10 of them have been in existence and are highly coveted by their lucky owners. It is rumored to grant it’s owner special powers and good luck.

Now, years later, with a push from a powerful underground movement of hardcore yo-yo players, Sonny and One Drop have finally come together to bring you the Küntosh!

Sonny took inspiration from the poster of the Italian sports car he had hanging in his room growing up. The Countach was not comprised of the strictly purposeful lines of a vintage Porsche 911, nor the long sensual arcs of Ferraris of the day. Rather, it had abrupt surfaces and sharp angles that emphasize what we’ll have to invent a new term for: ‘Squariness”. Yet somehow, the end result comes together in a way that you wouldn’t expect and it takes your breath away. It just screams performance and of course it lives up to the look. Sonny was bold enough to think he could pull of a similar thing in yo-yo design. Anyone who has been lucky enough to try the Küntosh would tell you that he pulled it off… in a big way. In both aesthetics and performance.

The legend is about to be reality.”

4mm Ywet

10 of these were made, and 2 ended up lost. YWET with a 4mm gap. Sonny made these and gave them to his friends that played tug-responsive yoyos. The blue and orange are a different shade than what is on the production YWET, and there are no engravings on them.

ZipZinger

The Zip Zinger is a one-off prototype yo-yo produced by Anti-Yo. It is made of titanium, but the manufacturing process is not something so commonly seen in other metal yo-yos; metal injection molding (MIM).

A slurry of powdered titanium and an inert binder is mixed together, and then injected into a CNC-milled mold and baked in a kiln. The binder is burned away in the kiln, leaving behind solid titanium.

The yo-yo was slated to enter production and retail release, but it was cancelled due to potentially high production costs. The only prototype that was ever made of this model was remarked to play very fast, being 56 grams in weight. The MIM mold used to produce the Zip Zinger was made at the same machining shop that produced the older BSP. There was a single Titanium Bapezilla made at this time via MIM as well.

Executive

The Executive was a prototype titanium looping yoyo. As far as I know, and have been told, only one of these was ever made. I do not have any specs on these, other than it used the B.S.P axle system.
