The Outlier Mini is Brandon Vu’s personal competition warmup throw. The reduced 41.9mm diameter forces greater landing precision than a full-sized yo-yo — a deliberate training constraint. Brandon’s reasoning: if you can land tricks on the Mini, you can land them anywhere. It shares the Outlier bi-metal construction (6061 aluminum body, stainless steel rims) and the same bearing and response setup, compressed into a form that punishes imprecision. Brandon reaches for it before every competitive performance.
