History / About
Holgate Toys has made wooden toys in the USA since 1789 according to the Yo-Yo Museum. In 1998 it released the G-Yo line of non-circular yo-yos, three-piece Northern hardwood (hard maple) with fixed axles, each sold display-boxed for an original retail price of $5 US. The shapes are covered by US design patents issued to Richard F. Bly of Kane, PA, all filed 16 January 1998. The Museum notes the G-Yo line is no longer manufactured.
Maple yo-yo shaped like a six-petal flower with black logo. Patent: US Design D403,366, issued 29 December 1998.
