About the OG-OM
The OG-OM is the founding model of Gates YoYo and the design that established Jon Gates’s reputation in the fixed-axle community. Each half is individually hand-turned on a lathe, resulting in subtle variations from unit to unit. The yo-yo features a weight-rim ply construction — concentric laminated wood layers that concentrate mass toward the rim for extended spin times. Originally discontinued, the OG-OM was relaunched with improved execution and continues to be regarded as one of the finest hand-made fixed-axle throws available.
Spin time with good technique: 10–15 seconds. Capable of looping tricks, Boingy Boingy, and classic fixed-axle play.
