Gates YoYo
Gates YoYo is a one-man, hand-machined yo-yo and spin top workshop founded in 2017 by Jon Gates out of Aurora, Colorado. Every yo-yo half is individually turned on a lathe without jigs or molds, meaning no two units are exactly alike. Gates began yo-yoing in 1976, went pro in 1990, founded the Denver Yo-Yo Club in 1998, and is widely credited as the creator of the offstring bind that gave rise to the 4A division. In 2020 he was inducted into the US National Yo-Yo Hall of Fame. His catalog spans fixed-axle laminated-wood throws and bearing-equipped unresponsive wooden yo-yos, all built to competition-level smoothness.
