About
The 66percent Barracuda was the very first model released under SpinGear’s 66percent sub-brand in 2017, launching simultaneously with the Haymaker. The 66percent concept — conceived by SpinGear founder Taka Hasegawa — takes iconic yoyos and reduces them to approximately 66% of their original size, machining each unit entirely in Katsushika-ku, Tokyo.
The Barracuda is an officially licensed miniaturization of the Duncan Barracuda, reproduced as a stainless steel monometal at 37mm diameter. The first production run of exactly 66 units was sold without laser-engraved logos — these “Raw” units are collector’s pieces. Subsequent runs introduced the PinkGold Edition with anodized accents. Despite its tiny size, stainless steel construction provides powerful spin and strong gyroscopic stability.
SpinGear recommends short thin strings for best performance at this scale.
