Spintastics
Spintastics Skill Toys, Inc. grew out of Dale Oliver’s “Science of Spin” school demonstration program. The Technic yo-yo he designed (first sold summer 1995) became the basis of the company; in 1996 Oliver partnered with fellow demonstrator Valerie Krantz to formally found Spintastics, incorporating in Euless, Texas by 1997. It became a top-5 U.S. yo-yo manufacturer, the only one at the time owned and designed by a world yo-yo champion, before expanding into spin tops and the U.S.-designed Spinabolo diabolo.
The original owners sold the brand in pieces between 2015 and 2021 (to YoYoPlay, then to YoYoSam’s Mitch Silver / MSE Enterprises), under whom it still operates today.
Note: the company’s current-day website states a 1993 founding date, which conflicts with its own period-correct (c.2000) history page and the Yo-Yo Museum’s company profile, both of which place formal founding in 1995–1996. Unresolved discrepancy — flagged, not corrected.
