Yoyofriends just announced the Netrunner, and had this to say about it:
“Introducing Netrunner – yoyofriends’ first ever 7075+SS bimetal and hollow SS ring yoyo. Built for the current competition stage and beyond, Netrunner ushers in a new era of performance in the yoyofriends lineup.
Netrunner was used by both Stephen Madden and James Heder at [Pacific Northwest Regionals]. James also won [Northeast Regionals] with Netrunner.“
Thanks to a Pay-it-Forward box on the YoYo Expert forums, I recently tried the Motion Perpetual for a few weeks. This is the 3rd Motion yo-yo I’ve tried (the other two were the Centrifugal and Parallel), and it’s my favorite so far. Something about the hybrid shape of this throw with the rounded rims hits the right buttons for me. At first, I thought it would be too light, but I was wrong. I’ve been incorrectly judging light throws a lot lately! It’s not even that light, coming in at around 63.4g, but hold it in your hand and tell me it doesn’t feel lighter than that.
As far as play goes, the Perpetual glides along the string. I wouldn’t go so far as to say it’s floaty, just smooth. It flows. The yo-yo’s shape makes it look and perform like a more competitive style throw, yet the rounded rims almost give it an organic feel when it returns to the hand.
The Perpetual has had two production runs: one in 2022 and one in 2024. I’m hoping it gets another, as this is a throw I certainly want to add to my collection. While the shape doesn’t seem like my cup of tea, the rounded rims make all the difference. It sets the Perpetual out from other performance-based yo-yos and makes it feel unique and fun to play.
Edition Yo-Yos has just dropped their first monometal yo-yo, the Forma.
From Edition:
“Forma is about execution—pacing your tricks, constructing with intention, and feeling the flow in your play. It packs power so that it doesn’t demand perfection, but it shines when your execution is clean and your transitions are thoughtful.“
Alchemik Yoyos has announced the release of their 2nd yo-yo, the Roentgen (pronounced “Rent-gen”), which arrives on Sunday, May 4 at 11:59 PM MST. Here’s what they had to say about the upcoming release:
“The Roentgen is the signature model of Tyler Jorgensen! Tyler runs the Tri-Cities yoyo club in Eastern Washington, and in his own words, “The inspiration for the Roentgen comes from a love of competitive style yo-yos that keep that fun-loving spirit. We wanted to make something that was powerful, agile, and durable. It has a great width for practicing those more difficult tricks, and with enough spin time to keep up!”
The Roentgen uses titanium weight rings on a 7068 body, which adds a really special feel compared to many bimetals. I personally have loved testing it as a team member and can’t wait for everyone else to get to experience it too!
The Roentgen is priced at $150 and will come in 4 colorways. We also have a handful of B-grades that will be available for $100. It drops May 4th at 11:59 MST on the Alchemik Yoyos official website.”

Just kidding
What is Zero series ?
“Zero series represents our standard yoyo for us. Taking inspiration from the number 0, the series is designed to serve as the measuring standard—or “zero point”—for evaluating the feel of various yo-yos. Its round shape, inspired by the Duncan Butterfly which is the ancestor of string-trick yo-yos, incorporates the spirit of both Anti-yo and A-rt. Since August 2023, we have released three models in the Zero series: the middle-sized ZeRo 54mm, the undersized zero 50mm, and the full-sized ZERO 57mm, which have been widely embraced by global yoyo players. The Zero 52mm, the much-anticipated final work in the series, draws inspiration from Anti-yo Eetsit and Anti-yo Bapezilla.“
