Franklin Mint

The Franklin Mint is an American collectibles company founded in 1964 by Joseph Segel in Wawa, Pennsylvania. It built its reputation manufacturing and marketing limited-edition commemorative coins, medals, jewelry, die-cast vehicle replicas, porcelain figurines, and luxury dolls.

In 1994 Franklin Mint extended their collectibles model to yo-yos, licensing a planned 12-piece subscription series of historically significant Duncan yo-yo reproductions. Due to poor initial sales, only three of the twelve planned models were produced. The series — reproductions of the Duncan Litening, Duncan Imperial, and the Large “G” Genuine Duncan — are now sought after by collectors precisely because of their rarity. Each came with a gold-finished engraved metal display stand.
