Collector’s Edition — Duncan Litening Folio 3112

About

The Duncan Litening was produced from approximately 1956 to 1959 and is distinguished by its two-coat crackle painting process, which gives the surface a distinctive textured appearance. Franklin Mint reproduced it in 1994 as part of a planned 12-yo-yo subscription series honoring historically significant Duncan models. Only three models from the series were ultimately released due to poor initial sales.

The Litening reproduction is identifiable by its gold-background foil sticker seal with a green lightning bolt (the original had a silver background with a gold bolt) and a metal axle rather than the wooden axle of the original. It came with a gold-finished engraved metal display stand. Each piece is a fixed-axle wood construction, playable but intended primarily as a display collectible.
