About
The Monarch was Humphrey Corporation’s butterfly-shaped yo-yo, one of three molds offered when the company launched its yo-yo line in 1975. Its wider catch zone distinguished it from the imperial-profile All Pro and Classic molds, making it nominally better suited to string tricks — though as an advertising specialty toy it was produced for promotional rather than performance purposes.
Like all Humphrey yo-yos, the Monarch was sold exclusively through distributors as a custom-imprinted corporate giveaway, never at retail. It was discontinued before the All Pro, which became the company’s flagship and surviving mold. Specific technical specifications have not been documented in any public source.
