Humphrey Corporation
Humphrey Corporation was founded in the early 1970s by brothers Dave and Ken Humphrey, initially producing the Humphrey Flyer frisbee as an advertising promotional item. In 1975 the company expanded into yo-yos, and by the 1980s and 1990s had become one of the largest producers of promotional yo-yos in the United States, manufacturing over 1,000 distinct branded variants per year and more than one million total units. The company sold exclusively through a distributor network — never direct to retail consumers — supplying customized yo-yos to corporations and small businesses as branded giveaways. In later years production consolidated around a single mold, the All Pro, a shape now known among collectors as “the Humphrey style.”
