About
The Super Yo-Yo Hyper Warp is an anime tie-in variant of the Yomega Hyper Warp, produced by Bandai to promote the Super Yo-Yo (超速スピナー) anime series. It is mechanically identical to the Yomega Hyper Warp — a robust modified-shape looping yo-yo praised for stability and long sleep times — but features side caps depicting the anime’s main protagonist, Shunichi Domoto. The Super Yo-Yo anime aired on TV Tokyo from November 30, 1998 to September 6, 1999. A heavier variant, the Super Yo-Yo Hyper Warp Heavy, was also produced with a weighted body for extended sleep. The anime tie-in helped extend the Hyper Yo-Yo brand’s reach into Southeast Asia, where localized dubs of the series were broadcast as late as 2005.
