The Auto-Return variant of the Super Russell replaced the fixed wooden axle with a two-clutch auto-return mechanism modeled after the Yomega Brain, allowing the yo-yo to return automatically to the hand when spin speed dropped. The clutch could be disabled by removing a rubber O-ring. The winged shape and lightweight construction made it suitable for beginners. Like all Super Yo-Yo line products it was distributed by Bandai across Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia in anime character colorways.
