Overview
The Filipino Twirler is the foundational model from the Goody Manufacturing Company of New York. Goody used the “Filipino Twirler” name across their entire product line to circumvent Duncan’s trademark on the term “yo-yo.” The base model was produced in multiple sizes — standard (approximately 2¼”), large (“Big Goody”), and small (“Midget” / “Twirler Midget,” sold in 24-packs) — each bearing the distinctive gold-stripe Goody label on both faces. Half-colors were often intentionally mismatched, with scarlet/gold and red/black among the most common combinations.
