The American Metal SpinGadget (アメリカンメタルスピンガジェット, #アメガジ) is a collaboration between SpinGear and One Drop YoYos, released on April 4 (Japan National Yo-Yo Day). SpinGear’s Metal SpinGadget design was licensed to One Drop Manufacturing in the USA, who produced it using their machining facility. It is the first SpinGear design to be made outside Japan.
The collaboration introduces One Drop’s iconic Side Effects axle system to the SpinGadget platform, allowing players to swap the axle assembly for different weight/feel characteristics. It ships with custom Ultra Light LEGO Side Effects (U.L.L.E.S.) at just 2.6g. The bearing was changed from the standard model’s D-size to a C-size NSK Flat bearing, which SpinGear notes gives a “more friendly play feel.”
Available in Clear, Gunmetal Black, Buddy Orange, White Cerakote, Pink Cerakote, and Blue (prototype) colorways — Cerakote finishes commanding premium pricing.
