Yuuki Spencer
Yuuki Spencer began yo-yoing as a kid in Hawaii at the High Performance Kites shop in Honolulu, and by age 12 was competing internationally as part of Team High Performance in Australia. He broke through at 13, taking the 1A title at the 2002 World Yo-Yo Contest, then spent the mid-2000s as one of the division’s most consistent podium finishers before reclaiming the world title in 2007 — a year in which he also won the U.S. National and Bay Area Classic titles, becoming only the second player to sweep all three in one year. Sponsored over his career by Team High Performance, YoYoJam, and YoYoFactory, he released signature throws with YoYoFactory (the undersized Yuuksta, 2010) before joining Caribou Lodge Yo-Yo Works in December 2015, which released his first signature return top, the Kayak, in 2017. He remains regarded by many in the community as one of the greatest technical 1A players of all time.
