About Michael Kurti

Michael Kurti is a 1A yoyo competitor and brand founder based on the US East Coast, active in the contest circuit since at least 2013. He built a reputation for densely technical, marathon-length trick combinations — a style that earned him consistent top-ten finishes at US Nationals across the mid-2010s, including 7th in 2014, 4th in 2015, and 5th in 2016. His approach favors intricate transition sequences over acrobatics, prioritizing layered complexity that demands precision across every segment of a routine.

Kurti competed as a member of the CLYW (Caribou Lodge) team from roughly 2013 through 2017, and in May 2016 received his first signature yoyo — the CLYW Igloo — a bi-metal design co-developed with CLYW owner Chris Mikulin. The Igloo built on the body profile of the BVM2 and used internal stainless steel weight rings to deliver the spin stability his increasingly demanding routines required. He departed CLYW in October 2017 and shortly afterward founded his own company, Good Life Yo-Yos, launching the brand in January 2018.

Good Life's debut model was the Gully, a bi-metal throw with a rounded profile and smooth finish. The company followed with the Gulch (a more accessible mono-metal version), subsequent Gully variants in 7068 aluminum, and a collaborative release with Spintime called the Liberty. Good Life has also served as a platform for other players, producing the Breeze as Chandler Steele's signature model. Kurti has continued to compete under the Good Life banner, placing at regional and national-level events through at least 2023.
