The Sage Classic was designed in 2013 as a beginner-oriented remake based on the YoYoFactory Protostar profile — a shape that won the 2010 World Yo-Yo Championship in 1A. Built by YoYoFactory to YoYoTricks.com’s specifications, it ships with a thin Half SPEC bearing for responsive play with 30–45 second sleep times and is upgradeable to a full Size C bearing for unresponsive play. YoYoFactory retired their own competing product (the ONEstar) in late 2015, recognizing the Sage as the superior implementation of the profile. Available in blue, red, black, sakura, midnight, green, and winter (white) colorways.
