History / About
Loop Yin-Yang (LoopYin-Yang) was an early YOYOMAKER experiment: could a 3D-printed looping yo-yo be made to play properly, and could a taiji (yin-yang) symbol be reproduced as an object. It was inspired by the Fodera Monarch Yin-Yang electric bass, whose top combines white ash and ebony. The video features double-handle looping player Shunsuke Kawakami.
It won an award of excellence at the 2014 MODS contest. It was printed by powder-sintering (SLS). According to the maker, weight/density design problems and prototype costs have kept the project from moving past the second prototype.
