Hacchi Folio 4074

History / About

Hacchi is a honeycomb-pattern yo-yo 3D-printed in PLA on a home 3D printer. The maker’s page gives the concept as something people who have never touched a 3D-printed object can easily pick up, a shape hard to make by molding or machining, and a yo-yo for learning the basics. After building Loop Yin-Yang and ThreeDimension, maker Hideki Touhou says he shifted away from high-performance yo-yos toward ones that are fun to hold and look at, and the honeycomb idea came first. The name comes from the main character of a famous Japanese anime. He states Hacchi is the yo-yo that symbolizes YOYOMAKER, and he keeps remaking it in new materials and colors (rainbow, glow, wood, bamboo, bronze filaments) to test printing conditions.
