History / About
3Deep is a 3D-printed yo-yo designed as a tribute to the OneDrop metal yo-yo Deep State, a modern-responsive model. According to maker Hideki Touhou, he liked the Deep State so much that he wrote to OneDrop directly and obtained permission both to use the SideEffect axle system and to make and sell the homage. It can be played bind or responsive, and Rewind describes its feel as reminiscent of the Coca-Cola yo-yo and older Hyper Yo-Yo models: a classic feel rather than one specialised for tricks.
Two print methods were sold: an FDM (fused deposition) version printed in two colors in a yin-yang colorway, and a DLP (resin) version with slightly adjusted weight balance. The DLP resin yellows under prolonged UV exposure. Units from 2024 have a stronger axle area. On the maker site the original FDM spec is listed as 56.8 mm diameter, 30.0 mm width (25.0 mm effective), 40-45 g depending on color and material, YYF slim pad response and a C-size bearing.
