The Pure was Jonathan Robinson’s signature yo-yo for SPYY, released in 2009. Its most distinctive feature was flush-mounted aluminum side caps — a visual element unique in the SPYY lineup at the time. The Pure came in several editions: the standard run, a Bay Area Classic exclusive VSOP version with a polished blasted finish and gold pad-printed logo, an extremely limited 24-karat Gold Pure (collector item), and the XO Pure with a Dif-E-Yo KonKave bearing. All versions used a D-size bearing and recessed pad response.
