About
The Orbitron 5000 was a deliberate departure from SPYY’s angular competition designs, featuring a wide, rounded profile with old-school aesthetic sensibilities. Pre-released at the 2012 World Yo-Yo Contest with a limited public run after contest sell-through, it became a collectible piece from SPYY’s final years. Its 47.5mm width made it one of the wider yo-yos in the SPYY lineup, and string contact with the inner walls played a significant role in tilt control during play — a characteristic unusual for a high-end metal yo-yo of its era.
