Spike-Fly

Folio 1266

History

The Spike-Fly was a made-to-order multi-style variant of the Dif-Fly, produced around 2003–2004. Frank Difeo extended the axle section to accommodate YoYoJam spin top bearing tips on both sides of the yo-yo. With tips pressed in, the Spike-Fly could function as a spin top for 2A looping play; with tips removed, it reverted to standard 1A string play. Fitting rubber O-rings on the rims enabled 4A offstring use.

The Spike-Fly was never a standard production model — each unit was made specifically to customer order, making it one of the rarest Dif-e-Yo configurations.
