The Shawn Exploder is a 7075 aluminum yo-yo designed by Doctor Popular as a signature model for yo-yo photographer Shawn Garcia — Doc Pop’s first photographer signature collaboration. The design is intentionally optimized for Garcia’s distinctive “exploded” photography technique: V-shaped wedge geometry and stepped inner walls maximize the contrast and visual separation between string layers in photographs while simultaneously reducing string friction during play.
Each unit shipped with an acrylic display stand with artwork, a microfiber lens cloth, and a silkscreened carrying pouch. Available in Blue and Yellow colorways at $75.
A Moon Rock White edition was released in 2022 in 7068 aluminum (60.4g, slightly lighter), featuring One Drop’s Moon Rock anodize, a cloth bag, and a 10-pack of white/gold PopString. The Moon Rock edition was priced at $100.
