About
The Raptor marked a pivotal moment in Duncan’s history when it was released in 2010 as part of the De-Luxxe series. It was the first Duncan yo-yo to use SG (Silicone Groove) Stickers — precision-machined silicone response that replaced the friction stickers and O-rings Duncan had used for decades — and it launched a new era of competitive-grade production from the brand. The Raptor’s simple butterfly shape was a deliberate departure from complex profiles; its undersized 54 mm diameter and deep catch zone made it highly maneuverable. It includes removable side caps and a Candy Dice counterweight for 5A play. The Raptor showed the community that Duncan could produce a world-class unresponsive aluminum yo-yo at a mainstream retail price.
