The Quake marked a turning point in G2’s design philosophy — the first model explicitly designed to be midsized and fast, responding to community feedback that most new releases were full or oversized. Jacob Gross described it as “the best yoyo I have ever thrown for horizontal.” It was also the first G2 to ship with response pads (G-Grips) instead of flowable silicone. Two bearings are included: the BOSS Rage (grooved) and BOSS Wrath (flat), giving players a choice of response feel. The AL7 variant runs approximately 2 grams heavier. The Quake became one of the most beloved G2 designs and later spawned the Aftershock (full-size Quake) as a direct evolution.
