The Ultra State is One Drop’s second collaboration with the Stay Gold America project of the Atwood family — the first being the aluminum Deepest State. The goal was identical: build the best possible modern responsive yo-yo. The difference: titanium.
Titanium’s higher density versus aluminum creates a weight challenge at large diameters. One Drop’s machinist Shawn pushed the walls extremely thin to keep the 56.77mm body at 53.7g bare — 56.2g with aluminum Micro Caps. The thin walls push mass to the rim, producing surprising power and spin time that can feel alarming on a responsive yo-yo. Modern responsive play consultant ed Haponik spent six months testing production versions before launch.
