The Rebirth is the signature yo-yo of One Drop team player Ryosuke Kawamura, the first player to join the One Drop team from Japan. Ryosuke is a devoted fan of the One Drop classics — the Project and Project 2 — and when asked for his signature design he conceived an updated, modern version of those models.
Back when the Project was released a 50mm diameter was considered standard; today that reads as undersized. The Rebirth brings the diameter up to 53mm to feel more contemporary. The nut-capture axle of the original Projects is replaced with the Side Effect system (ships with Ultra Light Side Effects). A friction-reducing bump at the catch-zone transition widens the string-catching area. The flat rims and Projection Profile of the originals are retained, giving the Rebirth a strong visual and tactile connection to its predecessors.
