Olympic Folio 4174

History / About

The Olympic was a one-piece wooden, fixed-axle yo-yo with an Olympic-torch center stamp. The Yo-Yo Museum says National Yo-Yo and Bo-Lo Company of Toronto sold the Olympic and Pro yo-yos from 1968 to 1977, with roughly 2 million Olympics and 3.8 million Pro Tournaments made, and that Elfverson of Sweden manufactured them. It calls the Olympic Canada’s equivalent of the Duncan Imperial. It was sold on bubble cards (89 cents CA) or from counter display boxes; the carded version shown carries the distributor line National Yo-Yo and Bo-Lo Co. Ltd., Toronto. Similar versions were later sold by Parker, Canada Games, Playtoy and Irwin Toys.
