About the Mentsch
The Mentsch — Yiddish for a person of good character — is Mr. Mazal Top’s tri-material hybrid yoyo, released via pre-order in 2023 at $65 USD. It features an extremely thin-walled polycarbonate body (1.5mm wall thickness) paired with chunky stainless steel outer rims for rim-weighted stability, and a blasted-finish aluminum flat cup hub. The brand claims the weight distribution rivals bimetals priced over $100. A YoYoExpert community forum thread was created in May 2023 to discuss the design. Each Mentsch ships with a 30-pack of response pads, a premium ceramic hybrid bearing (pre-installed), a custom collector’s hard case and velvet pouch, and wooly string and string rosin samples. Available colorways included pink and clear.
